"Barbarian" tribes: Gauls

So, I am currently reading the chapters of the book about the Celts and the Gauls. I really love to surround myself with everything that can make the experience of reading way more interesting and even more passionate. This includes of course, listening to the appropiate music. The obvious option in this case was -one of my all time favourite bands- Eluveitie. All of their albums are perfect for reading about the Gauls. Their lyrics are just awesome... seriously, listening to Eluveitie has taken my reading experience to another level. I can't recommend just one of their albums, because I love them all so much! However I shall leave some videos with fragments of their lyrics, in case you aren't really familiar with them.

Barbarians

I've been reading a great book by Terry Jones (yes, the Monty Python one) and Alan Ereira called "Barbarians: an alternative Roman history". Maybe the reason I love it so much is that there's a lot of new information for me in it. Growing up in Latin America, I never got a proper ancient european history course, therefore, the history of the Celts, Gauls, and the Germanic tribes -among others- is something I'm quite unfamiliar with. This is an awesome book, written from the perspective of the "barbarians", it talks about how the Roman Empire has made it through the history ,putting itself as the most "civilized" society of its time. Historical and archaelogical evidence presented by this book, suggest otherwise. In conclusion, it is an amazing book for people interested in the history of the so called barbarian tribes.

The Innkeepers

With my finals over, I finally had the chance of watching Ti West's "The Innkeepers". I loved it! I know many people havefound it a bit dull and slow, but for me it had every single element a good ghost movie needs to have. Sara Paxton is lovely, though I found her character a bit annoying to be honest. And even when the first part of the movie was indeed a bit dull, the last 30 minutes made it up for me, completely. The 70's vibe to Ti West's movies is something I really adore. "House of the Devil" was amazing, but since I'm a sucker for ghost movies, I have to say I liked this one better.

Angela Gossow: simple yet great

I love female metal singers. Each and everyone of them get to develop their own very characteristic fashion style, incorporating sometimes gothic elements or victorian corsets to their looks. However, Angela Gossow likes to keep it simple: black t-shirts, black leather pants and jackets, chains and belts are always present in her looks.The result? Truly the look of a "bad-ass metal chick". The simplicity of her look, doesn't make her any less of a sexy metal goddess! Here are some great inspirational pictures of this amazing woman with the most fierce voice.
